The North Penn Craft Market
November 18 @ 9:30 am$5.00
The North Penn Craft Shows have become among the finest traditional and contemporary craft shows in the Mid-Atlantic region. These craft shows are sponsored by the North Penn International Friendship Committee ( NPIFC) for the support of the International Exchange Program at North Penn High School, (NPHS) Lansdale, Pa. In March 1985 the first Annual Select Craft Show was held in the cafeteria of NPHS and was an instant success with 50 outstanding crafts people. The show was distinguished from many other shows by only inviting artists that exhibited original art and this criteria remains for each show. Because of the success of the Select Craft Shows in March, the NPIFC decided to offer a second annual show in November, 1987, the Holiday Craft Market.
Through the years on an annual basis two craft shows one in March and one in November, are held and completely run by volunteers. The quality of craft artists has continued to be among the finest in the area, attracting artists from 14 states.
These craft shows include over 95 artists and feature fine and unusual pottery, jewelry, fiber, dried flowers, fraktur, tinware, baskets, folk art, theorem, quilts, appliqués, furniture, painted scissor cuttings, ceramics, scherenschnitte, embroidery, children’s clothing, dolls, rug weaving, decoys, calligraphy, leather, band boxes, iron work, toys, wood carvings, wooden spoons, and much more.
A highlight of the craft shows is a delicious homemade luncheon. There is plenty of free parking, and a modest entrance fee with discount coupon available both on line, and through advertising materials.
These are one day shows held on a Saturday from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
The dates for each of the shows are advertised well ahead of time and are generally scheduled for the 3rd Saturday in March and the Saturday before Thanksgiving in November.
